Oral Archives Journal | 4 - 2028*
Call Deadline:* 15-Jan-2027*
The Call for Papers for Volume 4 (2028) of Oral Archives Journal is now
open.
The open access, peer-reviewed Oral Archives Journal (OAr),
<https://riviste.fupress.net/index.php/oarj/about> published by Firenze
University Press and USiena Press, is dedicated to all aspects of oral
archives – from their creation to their dissemination and reuse– and aims
to foster collaboration and exchange among scholars, researchers, and
cultural institutions dealing with oral sources.
The journal collaborates with CLARIN-IT and is connected to the K-OAr
Centre. The call for papers for the next issue is currently open - link
<https://riviste.fupress.net/index.php/oarj/index>.
OAr invites submissions on oral archives as cultural, scientific,
documentary, and technological objects. Contributions may examine how
spoken sources are collected, described, preserved, interpreted, made
accessible, and reused across different institutional, disciplinary, and
community contexts.
The journal welcomes contributions in three main areas: the life cycle of
oral archives, including production, curation, conservation, digitisation,
metadata description, and reuse; cross-cutting issues such as
transcription, speech technologies, legal frameworks, research ethics,
copyright, data protection, informed consent, access, licensing, and
sensitive data; and broader reflections on infrastructures, policies,
networks, educational initiatives, conferences, and emerging trends in the
field of oral archives.
Manuscripts should be between 30,000 and 50,000 characters, including
references, and may be submitted in English, Italian, or French. Each
submission must include an abstract in English of no more than 150 words
and five keywords in English. For Volume 4, manuscripts should follow the
Generic Style Rules for Linguistics and must be prepared for blind peer
review.
