One keynote secured
Dear colleagues, just a quick note to let you know that Sarah Kenderdine has agreed to be our keynote at DH2023. Sarah is a great speaker so both Anne and I are very happy about this. One down, one more to go... Anne and I will keep you informed. All best, Toma -- Belgrade Center for Digital Humanities http://humanistika.org
Dear Toma, this is great news! I'm looking forward to listening to Sarah Kenderlines keynote and find the suggested candidates all fitting, so I'm confident that you will get another positive response. Best wishes, Nanette Am Mi., 7. Sept. 2022 um 10:02 Uhr schrieb Toma Tasovac < ttasovac@humanistika.org>:

Dear colleagues, many thanks for your feedback. I got in touch with Žižek but he said he was "too old and too tired" and was mostly cancelling things these days... :) I have consolidated all of your suggestions — and added one more that came from Anne in one of our conversations: Felix Reda (formerly Julia Reda) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Reda. Felix is an expert on copyright and freedom of communication, and what makes his perspective really interesting is that he was at some point a member of the European Parliament. He could provide an interesting perspective on what it actually takes to make meaningful change and how to match academic fantasies with harsh political realities. Unless we hear any opposition from you, we'll go ahead and try to get somebody from our consolidated list next. All best, Toma P.S. our consolidated list: Janelle Riki-Waaka (Digital Equity Coalition Aotearoa) https://www.digitalequity.nz/about-us https://www.digitalequity.nz/about-us Schuyler Esprit (Create Caribbean Research Institute) https://schuyleresprit.com/esprit/ https://schuyleresprit.com/esprit/ Safiya Noble (Algorithms of Oppression) https://safiyaunoble.com https://safiyaunoble.com/ Claire Fernandez (European Digital Rights, EDRi) https://edri.org/about-us/our-team/ https://edri.org/about-us/our-team/ Eliot Higgins (Bellingcat, use of open web technologies in journalism) Peter Pomerantsev (journalist born in Kiev, good work on disinformation and social media) Eyal Weizman (Forensic Architecture, use of 3d modeling and criminal investigations) Victoria Amelina. https://michaeljudge.substack.com/p/diary-of-war-and-justice-in-ukraine?fbcl... https://michaeljudge.substack.com/p/diary-of-war-and-justice-in-ukraine?fbcl...
