*Call for Project Networking Session Profiles* The project networking track of ESWC2022 will provide an opportunity to: - Share knowledge between research projects; - Transfer data and technology between projects; - Present and discuss project requirements and results with ESWC participants; - Discuss funding opportunities such as Horizon Europe and ERC. The project networking track is intended to provide research projects with the ability to connect with each other and engage in discussions about their respective research and development. It fosters opportunities for knowledge and technology sharing, and to identify complementary activities and goals. This can form the basis for future collaborations, research proposals, researcher exchange, or joint participation at events or initiatives. *Who is invited?* We equally welcome submissions from recently finished projects, which have results to transfer, as well as ongoing and reprojects, which are seeking datasets and tools to perform their work and would like to network and exchange know-how, expertise or info with other EU-funded projects. *What to expect from the network session? * As the past two years most networking has taken place online, ESWC 2022 will offer you the opportunity to get to know researchers from different projects in a lightly organised setting. The network session chairs will match you with the most promising projects for you to talk to based on your profile during a series of ‘speed dates’. 12th EUROPEAN SUMMER UNIVERSITY IN DIGITAL HUMANITIES "CULTURE & TECHNOLOGY" - 2nd to 12th August 2022 UNIVERSITY OF LEIPZIG After one year without a European Summer University in Digital Humanities “Culture & Technology” and another year with an online edition of the 11th ESU DH C&T, all this because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 12th edition of the Summer University will take place in Leipzig in person again, from the 2nd to the 12th August 2022. It will be organised by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Burr, Institut für Romanistik, and her team, together with the Forum Digital Humanities Leipzig (FDHL) (https://fdhl.info/) As the new website (https://esu.fdhl.info) of ESU DH still needs updating, all information will be available temporarily on ESU’s previous website (https://esu.culintec.de/) The application phase for a place at the Summer University begins on 28 April 2022 and ends on 31 May 2022. The number of participants in each workshop is limited to 10. Workshops are structured in such a way that participants can either take the two blocks of one workshop or two blocks from different workshops. The "workload" of an active participation in the European Summer University corresponds to 6 ETCS points. Like in former years the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) makes available generous support to up to 20 alumni / alumnae of German universities. As soon as other scholarships are confirmed, we will send out a separate announcement. The Summer University is directed at 60 participants from all over Europe and beyond. It wants to bring together (doctoral) students, young scholars and academics from the Arts and Humanities, Library Sciences, Social Sciences, the Arts and Engineering and Computer Sciences as equal partners to an interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and experience in a multilingual and multicultural context and thus create the conditions for future project-based co-operations. The Leipzig Summer University is special because it not only seeks to offer a space for the discussion and acquisition of new knowledge, skills and competences in those computer technologies which play a central role in Humanities Computing and which determine every day more and more the work done in the Humanities and Cultural Sciences, as well as in publishing, libraries, and archives etc., but because it tries to integrate these technologies, methods and tools with the questions Digital Humanities pose about the consequences and implications of their application to cultural artefacts of all kinds. It is special furthermore because it consciously aims at confronting the so-called Gender Divide, i.e. the under-representation of women in the domain of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Germany, Europe and many parts of the world, by relying on the challenges that the Humanities with their complex data and their wealth of women represent for Computer Science and Engineering and the further development of the latter, on the overcoming of the borders between the so-called hard and soft sciences and on the integration of Humanities, Computer Science and Engineering. Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence (HHAI) June 13-17 2022, Amsterdam New Deadlines: Abstract submission: March 5th 2022 Paper submission: March 12th 2022 Author notification: April 18 2022 Camera-ready submission: May 2nd 2022 Main conference: 13-17 June 2022 All deadlines are at the end of the day specified, anywhere on Earth (UTC-12). Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence (HHAI) is the first international conference focusing on the study of Artificial Intelligent systems that cooperate synergistically, proactively and purposefully with humans, amplifying instead of replacing human intelligence. HHAI aims for AI systems that assist humans and vice versa, emphasizing the need for adaptive, collaborative, responsible, interactive and human-centered intelligent systems that leverage human strengths and compensate for human weaknesses, while taking into account social, ethical and legal considerations. This field of study is driven by current developments in AI, but also requires fundamentally new approaches and solutions. In addition, we need collaboration with areas such as HCI, cognitive and social sciences, philosophy & ethics, complex systems, and others. In this first international conference, we invite scholars from these fields to submit their best original, new as well as in progress, visionary and existing work on Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence. We welcome research on the different challenges in Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence. This first edition of Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence is organized by the Hybrid Intelligence Centre (https://www.hybrid-intelligence-centre.nl/ ) and the Humane-AI European Network (https://www.humane-ai.eu/ ) . Paper types In this conference, we wish to stimulate the exchange of novel ideas and interdisciplinary perspectives. To do this, we will accept three different types of papers: * Full papers present original, impactful work (12 pages excluding references) * Working papers present work in progress or new and visionary ideas (8 pages excluding. references) * Extended abstracts present existing, pre-published work (4 pages excluding references) Accepted full papers will be published in the Proceedings of the First International Conference on Hybrid Human-Machine Intelligence, in the Frontiers of AI series by IOS Press. Abstracts of working papers and existing work can be included in these proceedings, unless the authors request the abstracts to remain unpublished. All accepted papers will receive a minimum slot for oral presentation of 15 minutes. Depending on the content and quality of the work, some papers will be selected for longer presentations. Location This will be an in-person, single-track conference, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Pending local and global Covid measures at the time of the conference, we will provide options to attend virtually. The conference will be hosted at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Reviewing process & Submission guidelines Reviewing will be single anonymized, as we are welcoming existing work and references to previous work from the submitting authors. Submissions of full and working papers should be original work and ideas without substantial overlap with pre-published papers. Extended abstracts can present previously published work. On acceptance, at least 1 author should attend the conference. A significant contribution is expected from all authors. A justification of contributions in the paper is appreciated. All studies involving human participants should have received human-research ethics consent from the relevant institutions and mention this in the paper. All submissions should adhere to IOS formatting guidelines. A template for LateX can be found here, and for Word here. Papers should be written in English.
