LiLa-Linking Latin: Lemma Bank available

**With apologies for cross-posting** We are glad to announce that the LEMMA BANK QUERY INTERFACE of the "LiLa: Linking Latin" ERC project is now online at: https://lila-erc.eu/query/ Users can query the LiLa collection of Latin lemmas, used to interconnect linguistic resources and tools with Linked Data technology, through a simple graphical interface. The Lemma Bank comprises 134,228 Lemma objects and 58,278 Hypolemma objects, as well as 4,224 lexical bases, 109 suffixes and 41 prefixes. Query results can be saved as a CSV file, visualized in the LOD View or LOD Live interfaces, and the underlying SPARQL code can be copied with a simple click. Users familiar with the SPARQL query language can also access the LiLa triplestore, which currently provides three end-points: Lemma Bank, Corpora ("Summa contra Gentiles" of the "Index Thomisticus Treebank") and lexicalResources (the "Brill Etymological Dictionary of Latin and the other Italic Languages"). Introduction to automatic collation (Lausanne, March 26-27, 2020)

PhD students of the universities of Berne, Fribourg, Genève, Neuchâtel and Lausanne (UNIL et EPFL) have priority, but researchers from Swiss universities and abroad are welcome. The participation is free, but registration is required (please write to Alexandre Camus: Alexandre.Camus(a)unil.ch<mailto:alexandre.camus@unil.ch>). A social dinner is planned at the end of the first day. Instructors for this course will be Helena Bermúdez Sabel (UNIL), Elena Spadini (UNIL) and Elisa Nury (UniGe). We are pleased to have a guest presentation by Rudolf Mahrer (UNIL) and a keynote by Elli Bleeker (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) as part of the program. CICERO DIGITALIS Cicero and Roman Thought in the Age of Digital Humanities: Projects and Methods. International conference, Turin-Vercelli (19-20 October 2020) CALL FOR CONTRIBUTION [For further inquiries please contact: cicerodigitalis(a)gmail.com] The Société Internationale des Amis de Cicéron (SIAC), with support from the departments of Studi Umanistici of Università di Torino and Università del Piemonte Orientale et l’ERIAC (Équipe de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Aires Culturelles – Université de Rouen-Normandie), calls for contributions (papers and/or posters) addressing various topics related to Cicero and Roman thought in digital perspectives. The range of proposals includes, but is not limited to, • ideas for research projects (ongoing or completed) conducted via digital methods or tools • digital-oriented didactic strategies • digital editions • thoughts on how the use of digital methods or tools may impact the study of Cicero and Roman thought Abstracts must be limited to 500 words (bibliography excluded) and may be written in Italian, French, English, German, or Spanish. Contributors are invited to specify whether their proposal is designed as a paper or poster and, if a paper, whether they would be willing to make it a poster if necessary. By way of generic instruction, posters are better suited for a work in progress, whereas papers are the preferred format of a more accomplished project. Those interested in contributing are invited to send an abstract via email to cicerodigitalis(a)gmail.com by 30th April 2020. The most valuable contribution offered by a scholar at the stages of graduate student, PhD candidate, or post-doc, will be awarded the SIAC Prize, for the value of €200. The organisation is able to cover the expenses for accommodation and meals, but not the travel costs, for the accepted speakers. Proceedings of the conference will be published in a dedicated issue of COL - Ciceroniana on line http://www.ojs.unito.it/index.php/COL ISSN 2532-5353). All the contributions presented for publication (by 31 May 2021) will be subject to double-blind peer review.
