Einladung zur nächsten DHd-AG Multilingual DH community hour, 12.12.24, 14 Uhr

Liebe Mitglieder der DHd-AG-Multilingual-DH, wir möchten Euch hiermit herzlich zur nächsten digitalen Community Hour am 12. Dezember.2024 um 14:00 Uhr einladen. Den Zoom-Meetinglink findet Ihr unten in dieser Mail. Die Community Hour ist ein offenes Format und soll dem Austausch untereinander sowie der Vorstellung von Projekten dienen. Für das nächste Treffen haben wir folgende TOPs gesammelt, bitte bringt gerne weitere Themen mit: 1. Stand cfp der DHd 2025: AG-Beteiligung am OER / Datenethik Workshop von Ulrike Wuttke --> Proposal wurde im Peer-review abgelehnt ☹ 2. Planung AG Arbeitstreffen auf der DHd 2025: * Idee vom Sommer: Call for Participation unserer AG /Online-Formular oder/und auf der DHd 2025 den AG Slot so planen, dass man uns Informationen zu Problemen und Challenges, Fehlern etc. melden kann, die einem im Alltag zu MLDH begegnen. Inkl. möglicher Angabe von Workarounds. Dadurch wollen wir bestenfalls genug Material sammeln, um dann 2026 einen „Smashaton“ oder eine „Selbsthilfegruppe Workarounds“ anbieten zu können. Zusätzlich können diese Daten auch hilfreich für einen potenziellen „base4nfdi“ Antrag sein. * Gemeinsam am „Multilingual DH Manifest“ arbeiten, dass auf der DH 2025 in Lissabon veröffentlicht werden soll (Organisation: DARIAH MLDH AG, Aliz Horvath + ADHO SIG MLDH, Till Grallert) 3. Verwendung der AG Gelder für interessierte Promovierende zur Teilnahme an der DHd Tagung 4. Zusammenstellen von AG „Highlights 2024“ für die Mitgliederversammlung auf der DHd 2025 5. …. AVOBMAT beta launched – Multilingual text mining platform at GWDG – Feedback invited

Dear All, I would like to draw your attention to the open beta launch of *AVOBMAT <https://avobmat.hu/>* (Analysis and Visualization of Bibliographic Metadata and Text), a *multilingual text and metadata mining platform* developed for DH* research *and* teaching*. Designed in close collaboration with DH scholars, AVOBMAT supports *transparent *and* reproducible workflows* across a wide range of textual and bibliographic corpora. It handles *large-scale* *datasets* that are difficult or impossible to analyse with commercial LLMs. The service runs on an extensible, scalable, and modular cloud-based infrastructure, hosted by the Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung Göttingen (GWDG). AVOBMAT is developed at the University of Szeged, Hungary. *Key Features:* - Multilingual preprocessing, analysis, and visualization in *24+ languages* - Bibliographic *metadata analysis* with network visualizations, gender analysis - Named entity recognition, disambiguation & linking - Topic modelling, POS tagging, N-gram viewer, corpus comparison, KWIC, lexical diversity - Export/import of configurations and results for *reproducible workflows* - Support for both *public* and *private* corpora - Integrated *Help* with interface overview, workflow, configuration settings, glossary and appendices - *Upload templates, example corpora, *and* corrected/enriched metadata* for ELTeC and DraCor are available on this GitHub repository <https://github.com/avobmat/general> *Current content:* - *1,708 novels* in 15 languages (ELTeC) - *4,113 dramas* in 12 languages (DraCor) - *Upcoming*: corrected/enriched corpora including CoNSSA (Spanish novels), ECCO TCP, EEBO TCP, and Early American Imprints TCP F*ree *to use during the pilot phase with GWDG (until 25 March, 2026). *Community & webinars:* GWDG will host the first AVOBMAT *webinar on 12 November *(15.00-16.30, CET).
