Timbila, along with Staffrider and Chimurenga, was the inspiration and forerunner of herri so it made perfect sense to ask its founder and publisher, Vonani Bila, to select the best of Timbila to form the basis of our ongoing Library project, digitising the rich heritage of South African poetry, short stories and music that has been unjustly neglected up to now.
