Some here will certainly want to know about a book that just came into 
my hands, Patrick Burkart, Music and Cyberliberties (Wesleyan University 
Press, 2010). It is "an activist's guide for musicians and fans opposed 
to the major label lockdown of online music" -- but also a good 
scholarly study of a contemporary phenomenon.
