DH 2026 PC Meeting
Dear all, Based on everyone’s availability, our next DH 2026 PC meeting will be held at *October 27th (Monday), 10:30pm Korean Time* = 06.30 am Los Angeles = 09:30 am New York = 14:30 pm London = 15:30 pm Berline = 19:00 pm India. Currently we have 17 nomination for the keynote speakers. See the nominated list below. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y-tnMTSjS_CPIx97xXQtp9BhiqkcUr4yrhMT... Our meeting will be held via zoom below. Topic: DH 2026 PC Meeting Time: Oct 27, 2025 10:30 PM Seoul Join Zoom Meeting https://yonsei.zoom.us/j/7529930072?pwd=43IWx5z4qGiCcW0YDhnnKmuDoX0ks3.1&omn=87552011617 Meeting ID: 752 993 0072 Passcode: 2377 More details on the meeting agenda will be sent later. Please use the opportunity to review the list of nominations. Best wishes, Wonhee & Misun. Dear Wonhee, Misun, and all, I am not certain as to whether I will be able to attend the scheduled Zoom meeting, as I will be taking an international flight to return to Korea on Monday, October 27. Despite my efforts to establish a connection via cell phone, I may be unable to contribute to the conversation as a result of my travel restrictions. Consequently, I would like to provide a concise summary of my suggestions for keynote presenters via email in advance, if it is permissible. I highly recommend Diane Jakacki and Ms. Han Kang as keynote speakers for DH2026 in Daejeon. Diane is an ideal speaker for the conference theme of "Engagement" due to her pedagogical innovations, commitment to ethical and inclusive scholarship, and leadership in global digital humanities. Her work provides a comprehensive and deliberate perspective on the future of DH by integrating critical theory, digital infrastructure, and collaborative pedagogy. The literary voice of Ms. Han Kang, the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature recipient, is profound and resonates with the ethical and emotive dimensions of digital culture. Her presence would not only contribute intellectual and symbolic depth to the conference, but it would also considerably improve our capacity to attract sponsors and generate a broader public interest. We may contemplate inviting her in a special capacity, distinct from the three designated keynote speakers, in light of her prominence. Of course, her willingness to accept such an invitation is still uncertain, and I offer this recommendation with the utmost care. I am not a voting member of the Program Committee in my capacity as Conference Liaison. I am an ex-officio member of the organization, which entitles me to attend meetings. I understand I am not involved in the formal decision-making process. I present these recommendations as a thoughtful and respectful proposal with the expectation that they will be a valuable addition to the PC's deliberations. I am willing to compose the invitation email in both cases. All the best, Youngmin Youngmin Kim Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of English & Comparative Literature, College of the Humanities, Dongguk University Qiantang Scholar/Chair Professor, College of International Education, Hangzhou Normal University, China (2023-2027) Visiting Professor, Department of Film and Literature/Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies (IMS), Linnaeus University, Sweden (2023-2027) Affiliated Professor of Digital Comparative Literature and Transmedia Studies, Centre for Digital Humanities, Linnaeus University, Sweden (2025 ~ ) President, Translation Committee of the ICLA (2023-2026) Editor-in-Chief, *Journal of East-West Comparative Literature Association of Korea *(2022-2027) Founding/Executive Director, Institute of Transmedia World Literature, Dongguk University Director, Digital Humanities Lab, Dongguk University Conference Liaison, ADHO (2023-2026) On Thu, Oct 23, 2025 at 8:33 AM Wonhee Cho <[email protected]> wrote:

Dear Wonhee, dear Misun, dear all, some of us are currently on Zoom, but we have the suspicion that we are actually an hour late and missed the meeting? We had the time shift from summer time to winter time in our parts of Europe yesterday so that may have caused confusion. Could you please confirm if the meeting has already happened? If so, apologies!
