CfP: AVI 2026 Workshop – Visualising Knowledge, Navigating Uncertainty
CFP: AVI 2026 Workshop Visualising Knowledge, Navigating Uncertainty Human–AI Collaboration in Historical Knowledge Graph Systems A workshop at AVI 2026, Venice, Italy — June 8 or 9, 2026 Workshop page: https://flowstatesstudio.com/events/events-avi-workshop/ Important Dates Submission deadline: March 29, 2026 Notification of acceptance: April 10, 2026 Workshop: June 8 or 9, 2026 Submission form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf-0PlRou58a0PhBNNAtkrgnF3JOOjInUDl... We invite researchers and practitioners from HCI, data visualisation, digital humanities, cultural heritage, AI systems, design research, and related fields to participate in a workshop exploring how human–AI collaboration is reshaping the production and interpretation of historical knowledge graphs. As AI systems increasingly structure complex historical datasets, the role of human expertise is shifting from correcting machine errors to critically interpreting AI-generated knowledge structures. This workshop revisits the concept of the Social Machine, examining how visualisation and interface design can support epistemic transparency, uncertainty representation, and human–AI co-navigation of knowledge systems. The workshop will include short position statements, collaborative design challenges, and discussion aimed at shaping a new research agenda. ========================== 18th International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces June 8–12, 2026, Venice ========================== Andrew Richardson School of Design Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK [email protected] Alex Butterworth Senior Research Associate University of Sussex / Science Museum
