TITLE OF THE RESEARCH TOPIC: Latin WordNet: development and interoperability with other digital linguistic resources for the study of Latin and other Indo-European languages. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE RESEARCH TOPIC: The research is part of a larger project that aims to refine, expand, harmonize, and link three existing WordNets (ontological lexical databases) of ancient Indo-European languages (Sanskrit, Ancient Greek, and Latin) with other linguistic digital resources, and to make them accessible through a user-friendly open-source interface. The selected candidate will carry out research activities dealing with the development of the Latin WordNet and with its interlinking with the other WordNets and with further digital resources for the study of Latin and other Indo-European languages, activities that will require competence in the (computational) linguistic methodologies and techniques needed to perform this task successfully.
