Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce a new opportunity within the "Peirce Interprets Peirce" project, an international research initiative conducted in collaboration with the Bibliotheca Hertziana (Max Planck Institute), RWTH Aachen University, the University of Groningen, and metaLAB (at) Harvard University. The position title is: PhD Student (FNS) in Digital Humanities and Computational Semiotic Studies. The project stands at the intersection of theoretical semiotics and advanced technologies, focusing on: * Digital transcription using HTR techniques (Transkribus, eScriptorium); * Advanced textual analysis through NLP and Large Language Models (LLMs); * Knowledge Graph construction and data modeling (TEI-XML). Urgent Deadline: Given the start date of March 1st, 2026, the application window is extremely tight. The deadline is set for February 1st, 2026. Required Profile: * Master’s degree in Digital Humanities, Computational Linguistics, or Computer Science * Excellent command of English; * Strong motivation for interdisciplinary research and the application of quantitative methods to humanities data.
