the 2026 edition of the Venice Summer School in Digital and Public Humanities (6-10 July 2026) opens today in Venice, organised by the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH) at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, under the patronage of AIUCD. The school welcomes 25 participants from 14 countries in a free programme devoted to digital and public approaches to history, art history, textual scholarship, archaeology, and cultural heritage.
I would like to highlight two keynote lectures open to the public, in person and online:
Today, Monday 6 July Francesca Tomasi (University of Bologna): "What do we mean by scholarly digital culture?" Aula Mario Baratto, Ca' Foscari, 17.00 (CEST)
Friday 10 July Ross Parry (University of Leicester) and Vince Dziekan (Monash University): "Museums and Datafication: Renegotiating museums and their digital interfaces" Aula Morelli, Palazzo Malcanton Marcorà, Ca' Foscari, 18.00 (CEST) Poster
The Summer School website presents the full programme and documents the underlying data structure and the publication workflow, so as to support its maintenance and possible reuse for similar initiatives: https://vedph.github.io/vessdph2026
