Arcanum was founded in 1989. In the last 3 decades it has proven itself to be one of the major players in digitizing cultural heritage in Central Europe. Our philosophy is that digitization does not end with having digital reproduction. Analyzing the digital
content with modern AI tools plays a huge role when creating a sophisticated easy-to-use search engine. Our workflow includes technologies like automatic newspaper segmentation, OCR-correction, named-entity recognition and face search. It lets the users research
our digital library in ways that have not been really possible before. After creating the most prominent digital library in Hungary, we are extending our technologies and content to Romania hoping to create an indispensable tool in the field of Romanian cultural
heritage.
