Dear colleagues, The Network for Digital Humanities at the University of Potsdam cordially invites you to a special event of the ‘Code & Culture’ lecture series: this time we are doing a book presentation with the author. Dr. Miguel Escobar Varela (National University of Singapore) is going to present his book titled ‘Theatre as Data’. In 'Theatre as Data: Computational Journeys into Theatre Research' Miguel Escobar Varela examines the use of the use of computational methods in theatre research. On the basis of examples (not only) from his own research on Southeast Asian theatre, he shows how statistics and visualisations can offer exciting insights into various aspects of theatre studies. Date and time: November 28, 14:00 CET. The event will be held in English. Unlike other ‘Code & Culture’ events, this event is hybrid and can be attended either online or in person in Potsdam (Am Neuen Palais 10, Haus 9, Lecture hall 1.14). To attend online, please register here: https://www.uni-potsdam.de/de/digital-humanities/aktivitaeten/presentation-o... Registration for on-site participants is not required, but it is still possible to register here to receive a reminder before the event.
