Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities, DSU - Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia

I will discuss the planned anthology “From Global to Local?” (to be published Open Access with Melusina Press around December 2025). The anthology will critically examine the implications of the developmental trajectories of Digital Humanities in the German-speaking world for the disciplinary self-understanding and the epistemic promises of digital methods. Although the focus of this anthology will be on the German-speaking world, it seeks to provide a multi-perspective and multimodal space for tracing both locally situated and international histories and manifestations of digital humanities, because Digital Humanists, although belonging to a global community, always work within national and local contexts.
