For those who have an historical interest in AI, I'm glad to report that the
April 1985 issue of Byte Magazine, dedicated to that topic, is in the
Internet Archive, at 

https://archive.org/details/byte-magazine-1985-04-rescan. 

Eyes will be drawn to Minsky's contribution, of course, but those who think
that von Neumann had it right will also want to pay attention to John K.
Stevens, "Reverse Engineering the Brain" and grab Judy Trogadis' wonderful
micrograph.
