This is a fascinating conversation. I think Aris Xanthos makes an excellent
point - we need to parse out the different uses of the phrase "digital
humanities." There is a difference between, e.g., digital humanities data
(humanities data that is digital) and The Digital Humanities.

Hello there,

I don't know if you are still discussing about this because I read a
digested correspondence but in a recent article Anna Svensson states that
the first occurrence of "Digital Humanities" in a scholarly journal
appeared in 1998 -- see link below, page 13.
