Hi John,
one of the projects to be mentioned in this context certainly is DM2E (Digitised Manuscripts to Europeana, http://dm2e.eu) which is built around the RDF based Europeana Data Model (EDM) and in its WP 3 explores the ways scholars might make use of EDM and the related manuscript resources in terms of collaborative scholarly efforts. Pundit is used and further developed in this context, too, and we have good ties with Shared Canvas.
