A colleague has rightly pointed out after reading my note in 
Humanist 26.348 that,

> The RAE is long gone. The new exercise is called REF -
> http://www.ref.ac.uk/ - and while it's effectively the same thing,
> your readers may be confused to see RAE used here.

My apologies to anyone who has been confused by the error. But 
given my point, he is also correct in saying that the two schemes are
effectively the same.
